Tips & Tricks
- Degrease surface meticulously (brake cleaner or acetone) and let it flash off
- VHT paint in 2-3 layers wet on wet (ideally at ambient temperatures 15-35 °C (59-95 °F) and maximum 60 % humidity)
- Allow paint to cure completely (12-24 h)
VHT FLAMEPROOF™ Coating only attains its unique properties after correct curing (refer to instructions on the can).
Paint must be completely dry before heating up!
On the Vehicle:
- Run at idle for 10 minutes
- Cool for 20 minutes
- Run at idle for 20 minutes
- Cool for 20 minute
- Run under normal operating conditions for 30 minutes
Off the Vehicle:
- Heat to 100-120 °C (210-250 °F) for 30 minutes
- Cool down for 30 minutes
- Heat to 180-200 °C (350-400 °F) for 30 minutes
- Cool down for 30 minutes
- Heat up to 300-340 °C (570-650 °F) for 30 minutes (or if the oven/grill can not exceed 300 °C (570 °F), set to the maximum possible level)
